Computing is an essential part of the modern curriculum, and we are committed to delivering high-quality education that engages every child, inspiring a lifelong curiosity and confidence in technology using the Teach Computing resources.
Computing is taught throughout the school, building progressively from the foundational skills in the early years to advanced concepts in Key Stage 2. This enables all pupils, regardless of their starting point, to develop a firm foundation for future learning and be prepared to embrace modern advances in technology.
The curriculum is carefully structured around the key areas of computing, providing pupils with a balanced and enriching education where pupils engage in projects that help them appreciate the power, importance and use of technology in our society. Through all teaching we foster an awareness of the ethical and social implications of technology and guide pupils to understand how technology influences society.
We prioritise teaching children about the risks of using technology and how to protect themselves and their systems. By fostering a love for technology and a solid understanding of its applications, we prepare our pupils for a future where they can confidently navigate and contribute to an ever-evolving digital world.
