Teaching Assistant

Salary: Grade 2, £9.00 an hour

Job Term: 27.5 hours a week, 38 weeks a year

Appointment: 1st September 2019 (Temporary in the first instance)

We would welcome applications from individuals who:


  • Have knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and teaching phonics.

  • Can provide support for the teacher during lessons, e.g through directed work in Literacy or Numeracy and other areas of the curriculum areas, or supervising small groups of pupils whilst the teacher is carrying out assessments.

  • Work with pupils, either one to one or in small groups, some of whom may have Special Educational Needs.

  • Have high expectations of behaviour and achievement.

  • Have GCSE Mathematics, English – minimum grade C or equivalent.

  • Work positively and collaboratively with others.



The post will be temporary in the first instance and reviewed on a term by term basis.  The successful candidate may be expected to undertake lunchtime duties in addition to their TA responsibilities.
