20th April 2020
Hello Fox Class.
I hope you are staying safe and well and managed to enjoy the Easter break. I have been regularly putting work on Google Classroom for you but thought I would give you instructions again incase you have been unable to access it.
Instructions on how to use Google Classroom
Go onto google.co.uk.
Log in (icons in the top right hand corner) using- if you need your password- please contact school.
Click on the 9 dots in the top right hand corner.
Click on the Classroom icon. The class name should appear.
Click on the class name.
Any work can be accessed using ‘Classwork’ at the top of the page.
Single click and then open the attachment or file. Some files may be in an
editable form so children can write on them.
It is worth taking a look as there are lots of different activities and websites for you to access for ideas. Each week, I am adding a set of daily sheets with a spelling, maths and writing activity, and a weekly project suggestion. There is also a reading comprehension activity weekly.
I am also hoping to conduct a weekly live session via the Google Classroom, on a Thursday at 10am, where children can check in with me and also have the opportunity to see each other. It would be lovely to see as many of you as possible. The link will appear in the stream on Google Classroom on Thursday.
I check Google Classroom every day and will respond to any comments added or mark any work. I have also posted new work for you to have a look at this week. In case you are unable to access it, here is the work I have added:
BBC Bitesize Daily Lessons
You may well have heard that the BBC are starting daily Home Learning Lessons as from today. Bitesize has 150 new lessons every week to keep you on track with your learning. You'll find daily lessons for homeschooling in Maths and English for every year group, as well as regular lessons in Science, History, Geography and more. The homeschooling lessons have been created with teachers and other educational experts. They feature a mix of videos, animations, practice activities, quizzes and games.
Classroom Secrets have officially partnered with BBC Bitesize Daily lessons. They have a new set of free home learning packs that will last the whole of summer week one and the content matches English and Maths on the BBC Bitesize Daily Lessons timetable.
Lots of great ideas on this site.

Here is another link that might help as well.
Explorify Science Activities
Some good ideas for science activities on plants and materials:
Maddie Moate has been doing online experiments on Youtube, which are relatively easy to follow and really enjoyable. Learn How to Make Poo!
It is important that you continue to practice your Times Tables. Keep logging onto https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth/school/teacher. If you feel you are ready to move onto your next times table, please let me know and I will add it onto your ttrs profile.
It is important to read each day. This could mean reading to an adult, reading to yourself or being read to by someone else. There are lots of websites offering free access to audio books.
Some you may want to try are:
I know lots of you have been doing Joe Wicks Daily workout. Just type in Youtube:
PE with Joe
It goes out live every day at 9am or you can catch up on any previous episodes anytime on Youtube.
You might also like Dancing with Oti Mabuse. She does a daily dance class based on well-known films and shows. They’re great fun – I’ve been doing some of them. It goes out live at 11am, but you can also catch up anytime on Youtube.
We use Go Noodle at school as well. Here is the web address if you want a look:
There is also a good site on Youtube which does yoga for children. Just type in:
Cosmic Kids Yoga
I hope you find these resources helpful and not too onerous. Remember to try to do just a little each day and try to make it fun.
I really miss you all and can’t wait to see you all again (hopefully on Thursday in our Google Meet).
